Super Soul Sessions with Oprah

(A Day with Oprah)

I was absolutely overwhelmed with elation this past Saturday as I attended Super Soul Sessions 2 with Oprah Winfrey at nearby Royce Hall, UCLA. It has long been a dream of mine (and most of us, really) to be in the presence of Oprah. Certainly, as she has continued moving toward a higher consciousness, it is an absolute treat to be a student , sitting comfortably under her wings.

The day was full of inspiration and deeper meaning, with talks by some of my favorite thought leaders.

Here are just a few of the gems I received throughout the day :

Shaka Senghor : Shed your masks, embrace being true to yourself. See the broken child in everyone we encounter. When you respond to someone’s authentic self, you can only respond with compassion / empathy.

Cheryl Strayed : The best thing we have to give is what we already have – we are the master at this endeavor. We must sing with our voice. This is greatness!

Caroline Myss : Never trust your mind to heal. The instrument for healing in you is the SOUL.

Amandla Stenberg : Vulnerability is our strength. Your love for yourself is a revolution.

Kris Carr : Live like you really mean it. Show up for your life. Get busy living.

India.Arie : Let life touch you.

Dr. Shefali Tsabary : Uphold our children’s wholeness.

Eckhart Tolle : You are never more essentially yourself than when you are still.

Oprah : I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.
