(Celebrating Ingrid’s 47th birthday, her last)

Today, alongside a strong and vibrant community of friends & family, we honored our beloved Ingrid Roberts in a Homegoing Celebration after a two year battle with a very rare and terminal cancer.

I first met Ingrid 10 years ago. She was the older sister of one of my dearest friends, Andrea. The minute I met her, I wanted to BE JUST LIKE HER. She quickly took me under her wings and became a mentor and role model to me in an instant. I have been to her home time and time again – always feeling loved and cherished and taken care of. She had a special place in her heart for Arizona and always welcomed her with open arms.

As a life coach, I work with clients to VISUALIZE their best lives. I help them to keep moving forward and work through situations and circumstances that keep them feeling “stuck.” Ingrid was the epitome of living life to the fullest. Even as she was given a grim prognosis, Ingrid chose to live life on her terms and to experience it deeply and fully.

At today’s celebration, the message was very clear : be grateful for everything that IS right. Be grateful and stay grateful for all of your blessings that you have and will have. Appreciate the people who love you unconditionally and want to add to your joy and your journey. Offer to lend a hand when you see someone that needs one; be accepting of others and take the time to see the good in everyone. The karma will return to you when you need it later.

Ingrid, your physical presence will be sorely missed. And, I promise to carry on your torch to be of service to others and to live my life with passion and purpose.

Rest well, my sweet friend. Until we meet again …
